WordPress.com Free Blog

WordPress.com Free Blog There are many places to start your blog. Two of the most popular blogging platform today are Blogger.com and WordPress.com.

WordPress.com is a free blogging service run by WordPress software developer (the same people who work on open source software at WordPress.org). WordPress.com services including custom design templates, integrated stats, automatic spam protection and more.

WordPress.com aims to create a great experience for its users so that people without technical knowledge can start a blog in seconds. WordPress.com is now being actively developed, they continue to update new features and services for their users.

WordPress.com is free, but they offer paid an upgrade to things like CSS editing and custom domain.

I am really new to WordPress.com. I have joined the WordPress.com for some time, but I have not made any posts yet. I just do not really understand its features because it is very different from Blogger. I am also having trouble figuring out the navigation to check out my blog from my dashboard and so on. Now, I am in the process of learning. What do you think? Is WordPress.com worth a try?

If you want to get your own then wordpress.org with self hosting and domain.Free wordpress doesn't have many more features,it even doesn't have widget with javascript, ifrmae option.

  4. Your comment made it clear about what I had been thinking about free WordPress. That's why people move from free WordPress / Blogger to WordPress.org with self hosting. Thank you for your input.

  5. I totally agree with Blogging Park.. There is nothing much you can do at wordpress.com.. you are better off with blogger.com if you are into free hosting.. now self hosted wordpress is of course a whole different ball game :)

  6. @dedeandro - I tried WP but WP free blogs cannot be monetize unless having thousands of traffic.

BTW, I was looking for this FB template for months now. I saw this template on Facebuko.com . Would you mind sharing this template?

  8. Having thousands of traffic means lots of work to be done.

You probably will not find this template everywhere. Since I made this template by myself :). I'm not ready yet to make this template available for public.

  10. I have one blog having 1000-2000 Pageviews a day and is hosted through blogger custom domain.

@dedeandro - did you mean " you edited this template?" because this template is a template in WP. I bet you only edited this one and not created it. Am i right? This template is the same as here but in WP form >> http://facebuko.com/

  11. Wow, that's huge. I'm just wondering how you manage it. Anyway, congrats!

LOL, No! I 'created' not 'edited'. I made this template from scratch with a blank HTML editor. It took me about 2 - 3 months to finish this template. That is why I am not going to make it public, at least for now. There are several templates that have not been completed. This is due to my lack of knowledge about HTML. 15. I have had Wordpress blogs and Blogger blogs for quite a few years.  I started on Blogger and so have always felt more familiar with it.  It took me several weeks to learn how to set up a Wordpress blog properly.  One thing I really like about Wordpress is the great range of free plugins available.  Although they aren't necessary for a simple blog, as my blogs have developed, Wordpress plugins have been very handy for improving the functionality and versatility of my Wordpress blogs.
