Blogger OpenID Commenting

Blogger OpenID CommentingOpenID is a safe, faster, and easier way to log in to OpenID enabled sites with one set of login. It is a way to authenticate your comments on other blogs.

With OpenID, your password is only given to your identity provider, and the provider then confirms your identity to the sites you visit. So you do not have to worry about insecure sites compromising your identity.

Here are some of the advantages of using OpenID:

* OpenID accelerates log in process by allowing you to sign in to Web sites with a single click. So you spend more time engaged with a website and less time filling the signup pages.

* As an identity management, OpenID can be more thorough about protecting your online identity. Most websites operators are less likely protecting your identity.

Some large organizations are now accepting OpenID, including Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Microsoft, AOL, MySpace, and many more.

If you use one of the following services, you already have an OpenID:

B Blogger
http://
dedeandro.blogspot.com

F Flickr
http://www.flickr.com/photos/
dedeandro

M MySpace
http://www.myspace.com/
dedeandro

A AOL
http://openid.aol.com/
dedeandro

W WordPress
http://
dedeandro.wordpress.com

Since Blogger becomes an OpenID provider, you can now comment on other blogs using your blog URL as an OpenID and identify yourself as the owner of your own blog on any website that accept OpenID authentication, instead of commenting anonymously. Your display name will be appeared as the author of the comment and will be linked to your Blogger OpenID URL.

Wibiya, Interactive Tools For Your Blog

Wibiya, Interactive Tools For Your BlogWibiya allows you to integrate, manage and track applications and widgets into blog via customized toolbar.

Currently they offer a main set of tools:

* Blog community via Facebook connect (including the shout box) to communicate with the community and learn what they like in order to drive traffic and build your own blog.
The Blog Community shout box is a more integral way that directly connect your Facebook community with your blog. It makes communication easier for members of your community and offer more capabilities for interaction between the audience, as they can post comments on the shout box.

* Twitter alerts on your blog and share your tweets with your reader in real time, includes an integrated Twitter search.
The content comes from your Twitter stream. It used to build a community in Twitter and on your own blog.

* Engage the reader and improve page views with Blog Search, Translation, Posts Navigator (recent and random posts navigation), Photo Gallery, Games, Subscribe to RSS feed, and Sharing Tool.

Their user friendly and customizable toolbar will improve and make your blog better. It becomes an easier way to keep updated with your Facebook and Twitter.

Your blog can take advantage of existing social networks, media tools and communities on the social web.

Wibiya is in beta, but they are still making changes and additions. They have added some changes suggested by the community.

So far, the toolbar looks good and unique. It has a very good interface design and can be adjusted with the theme of my blog. I cannot wait to see their next improvement. What do you think about Wibiya toolbar?

DedeAndro Comment Policy

DedeAndro Comment PolicyEach blogger has their own standards of what is and is not acceptable in their blog.

I never censor comments. I only delete those comments that are offensive, use foul language, include attacks, or spam.

I love comments on this blog. They are as important as what I write. They add more knowledge to this blog. If you want to comment then do not hesitate to say it.

Relevant comments in posts are appreciated. Because this will enrich and improve the quality of conversation.

Spam comments in posts are not appreciated and could be deleted. Comments spam could damage your reputation. If you just want to say "hi", "hello", "good blog", "nice blog", "great blog" etc., then you can leave your comments on GFC comments or shout box.

Sometimes I have trouble with comments spam. Currently, only registered users (includes OpenID) who will be able to post a comment. It will help reduce comment spam, since Blogger does not provide IP blocking feature.

Comments have the ability to build or tear down your reputation. So take care, be friendly, and be sure to add value.

Gigya, Simple Widget Distribution

Gigya, Simple Widget Distribution Gigya provides free tools to help widget developers to distribute, track, analyze, and optimize the widgets.

This tool is easy to integrate in web pages or any widget. It is fully customizable to match your blog design using a simple setup wizard.

If you have limited space on your blog, you can use a simple button to put in your blog. Clicking on this button will open a small Gigya window. Typically, it is placed next to the widget on the web page. Users can then easily grab and place the widget (embed code) on the destination of their choice.

With Gigya Send to a Friend and Bookmark button, allowing your readers easily to share your page via email or add it to their most popular social networks, blog platforms, and bookmarking sites without leaving your blog.

I think it is very simple. That is why I am using it on Papiere ECard blog.

Yahoo Pipes, Interactive Feed Aggregator

Yahoo Pipes, Interactive Feed AggregatorYahoo Pipes is a free online web application that lets you combine multiple feeds into single feed using visual editor. The result can then be embedded into your blog (as a badge) or can be read on your favorite feed reader.

You can use Yahoo Pipes to publish and share all your blog content without having to burn each of your blog feeds. It automatically pull the data from the source feed, which you can then filter and set rules for how the content should be displayed.

Yahoo Pipe is still in beta, but it has already provided an amazing way to combine several feeds into single custom feed.

I am new to Yahoo Pipes, but it never hurts to try, right? Click here to see what I have created using Yahoo Pipes.

BitPixels Free Website Thumbnails

BitPixels Free Website ThumbnailsIf you own a blog directory service, you may need a website thumbnail generator to generate preview of each submitted blogs. One of website thumbnail generators that I used in my blog directory is, BitPixels. BitPixels provides a thumbnail of any website that you can save and post to your blog or use in directory services.

BitPixels generates the thumbnail instantly. There is no registration required and you can log in with your Google account. It is powered by Google App Engine.

Almost all of website thumbnail generators work pretty much the same, but I consider BitPixels as the simplest and easy to integrate in any platform.

See the thumbnail I created using BitPixels above or see it live on my blog directory.

Shutter Reloaded Image Viewer

Shutter Reloaded Image ViewerI found a lightweight image viewer for my blog. It looks very cool in my opinion. It is called Shutter Reloaded. Shutter Reloaded is an image viewer for blog that works like Lightbox or Thickbox. It has many features, such as: resizing large images to fit the window screen and with the option to show full size image. It also has a very good compatibility with any browser.

By default, Shutter Reloaded is activated on all links pointing to an image (with thumbnail or not). It will automatically display each image separately when you click on it. You do not need to change anything on your page.

To see how it works, click on the image above (but you need to wait for the whole page to load before clicking on the image above). I also use this image viewer on my other blog. Check the live action on my media blog.

Who Is Linking To My Blog?

Who Is Linking To My Blog?I am probably too lazy to Link Exchange, or keep track of other blogs that link to my blog and find out who is cheating. So I decided to make a list of up to 100 recent blogs that have links pointing to DedeAndro weblog. The content of these links are the content of respective owners, not mine.

It is easy to be included in this list. All you need to do is just, write a blog entry with a link to my blog or add my blog link to your blog, then your blog will automatically be shown in this list. The easiest way is, copy the code below and then embed it into your blog.

DedeAndro Weblog

Curious? The list is based on a Google search feed and burned by Feedburner. So, blogs that links to my blog, need to be indexed by Google, and search engine friendly.

There may be some delay before your link appears on this list. No more cheating!
